Pick-up at Iguaçu airport IGU and transfer to the Hotel and Resort San Martin. Located next to the Parque das Aves (Bird Park), the hotel features a beautiful swimming pool amidst a lush tropical garden. Depending on your time of arrival we may pay the Bird Park a visit. More than 150 different species of tropical birds, as well as alligators, snakes, butterflies, and monkeys, call the park their home.
Visit the Brazilian side of the world-famous waterfall. The falls are located within the limits of the Iguaçu National Park, covering 185.262 ha on the Brazilian side and 67.000 ha on the Argentinian side. The Iguaçu River rushes in 275 cascades, with an average height of 60 m, down a horseshoe-shape canyon over a length of almost two miles. This is an unforgettable natural spectacle. We suggest you take a sightseeing helicopter flight (optional), which provides an even better view of the overwhelming dimensions of the falls. In the afternoon we take you for a visit to Itaipu, where nature is tamed for human use. The world’s biggest hydro-electric power plant generates 14.000 MW, delivering power to Paraguay and large parts of south and south-eastern Brazil.
For the rest of the day you may wish to stroll through the hotel gardens and enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool.
Today an excursion to the Argentinian side of the falls is scheduled. A charming mini train takes you through the National Park and delivers you near the boardwalk that leads to the roaring Garganta del Diablo, the Devil's Gorge. From there you have easy access to a number of falls. Our suggestion is to go for an adventurous raft ride underneath the falls (optional).
You will already have checked out of the San Martin Hotel, so we take you straight to the airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
